See so many accidents here over the last 25 years!

It should have speed cameras along the A50 as well as a reduced speed limit. It is very dangerous when trying to get out of the drive

We'd like to make it safer for everyone for residents, drivers and pedestrians. We hope we can find the right measures to help reduced the accidents occurring whether it's by a speed limit, cameras, improved road surface so long as it works.

although i do not live in smallwood i totally support your petition, i live on the street lane section of the A50, i believe that traffic control on the A50 between poolside junction and smallwood needs to be reviewed, during the the review of 2014 i contacted, our local councillor, cheshire highways, and Fiona Bruce highlighting the unacceptable number of incidents on street lane and the increase in traffic with the expansion of the trading estate which include a bus/coach depot, There were two incidents on street lane during the review, following the review the 50 limit from lawton lights was reduced to 40 but that limit was not extended beyond poolside junction, the evening following the reviews conclusion a vehicle left the road, took out 20m of hedge, careered across my garden, through the boundry hedge and felled a conifer tree, the weekend prior 16 children were camping in the garden, the A50 between poolside junction and smallwood is particularly hazardous with numerous incidents on street lane, newcastle road by lynnhouse farm (in winter when running water freezes on the road), newcastle road by bears head farm and smallwood

I believe the current speed limit to be dangerous which is shown by the numerous accidents.

Very dangerous section of road. I take my life into my own hands when walking my dogs along the very narrow footpath along the A50 through Smallwood.

The road layout, surface and/or speed need to be revised as a matter of urgency before a resident is killed in their own driveway, no doubt the driver would be protected by their modern vehicle (and walk away). Please fix the issue ASAP

The speed limit must be reduced, as my wall has been crashed into several times due to high speed of traffic. My property also shakes when fast traffic passes on this road. Entering and leaving my property is also a big safety issue.

Something needs to be done about the speed limit. We've only lived here for just over 1 month, and already been witness to 2 accidents. Cars, trucks, motorbikes - use the 'straight' right outside our house to overtake at a hell of a speed.

The current speed limit of 60 mph in my opinion is now far too high for the number of motorists using the A50 through Smallwood, especially now the M6 Smart Motorway improvements are underway which has resulted in a significant increase in the number of cars and freight using this as an alternative route and, incidentally, not the official diverted route when night closures on the M6 from junctions 16-19 are enforced.

Non-skid surfaces should also be applied at relevant danger spots

A very dangerous road. The 50 limit needs to be backed up with speed cameras.

I live on the a50 in Smallwood. The speed of cars along this stretch makes it very hard for me to exit my drive safely. I have also seen at least 10 serious accidents in this 2 miles stretch

Hope it get sorted soon!!! They should really lower the speed limit and put barriers up to stop this from happening!!

If it saves one brick wall or a car from being damaged, never mind a life, it's got to make sense.

It should have a speed camera and other speed reduction measures too.

So many accidents yet so little Highways activity ! Road safety must surely be about a wider picture than just the driver!
