The council finally backed down and scrapped their plan to develop the land on Shroggs Road. They realized we were not going to let them bulldoze our neighborhood. Keep your eyes open because we need to make sure they actually stick to this promise.

The local council continues to ignore the valid concerns of the people living on Shroggs Road. They think we will just roll over and accept this development but they have another thing coming.

The land is designated for industrial use, is next to retail units and is on one of the busiest routes to Wheatley, Lee Mount and Mixenden. The local infrastructure is not suitable to support the needs of this sizeable addition to the local population.
We havent long lived in this area and are astounded to hear of these plans, we saved years and work our backsides of day in day out to pay for a house that will devalue within minutes of this plan going ahead. Not to mention the rise in crime ETC! Absoubly not a good idea!!!!
I have had run in before now with the travellers. When they pitched up on the moor and we footballers we getting abused by the kids while we were trying to enter the changing rooms. The police can’t police them so how would the site be managed and policed
I've had past trouble when travellers broke into one of our redundant warehouses. They stripped all our electrical wiring out, set fires in the building, soiled excrement in corners and then asked for £5k to move on. Why would you want this possibility on your doorstep.
Due to the way this has been released without any forther detail on rules around the site being made accessible to travellers, I am opposing as i have concerns around this around crime increase , trees being cut down and wildlife being affected
Against development, crime rates will increase and it will ultimately impact in a bad way on the local community
I do not feel this is suitable land for the proposed use and will have a detrimental impact on the local community and traffic flow along Shroggs road

Why would an area that is already classed as undesirable / low income need the problems that a travellers site would bring. If anything the Ovenden / Wheatley area needs investment / improvement not more problems.
