Friends of Guime/Amigos de Guime is a Group of like-minded people that have got together mainly to protest against the dangerous state of the only road CALLE GUASIMETA which runs directly into and through the village of Guime. It is not only a matter of time until someone else looses their life. IF YOU USE THIS ROAD PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN THIS CAMPAIGN! .

The scale of this response has provided the leverage required to request a formal consultation with the local transport department. We are currently drafting the correspondence to secure a meeting regarding the necessary road safety upgrades.

The condition of the road is unacceptable. If it is the responsibility of the Cabido to maintain the road then the Ayuntamiento of San Bartolome should be applying maximum pressure for its repair. If, however, the Ayuntamiento is responsible then they should get on and repair the road. We do not need any meetings what we need is, long overdue, action. El estado de la carretera es inaceptable. Si es responsabilidad del Cabildo para mantener el camino entonces el Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé se debe aplicar presión máxima para su reparación. Si, sin embargo, el Ayuntamiento se encarga entonces deben subir y reparación de la carretera. No necesitamos ninguna reunión lo que necesitamos es, desde hace mucho tiempo, la acción.
I have lived in Guime for the past 16yrs & I have never driven on a road as bad as thi. We have also had the expense of a wheel rim & 2 tyre replacements. Its is also a death trap at night time. I am ASHAMED to give directions to my friends & family via this road to Guime. I have never seen it surfaced since I moved here!
This must be one of the most dangerous roads on the island.

This road is not only used by the village but a lot of people use it as a route through to the North of the island and it is a death trap. People are working long and hard to get this done so please positive or helpful comments

That concrete has been on the road for 20 years unbelievable . Also a Spanish taxi driver told me that the military are partly responsible for the upkeep of the road and they and the Ayuntamiento have been arguing for years who is going to pay for it
