We, the residents of Elm Park, strongly object to the proposed plans of 114 Diban Avenue - Change of Use from C3(a) Residential to C1 Air Bnb (Application No. P1517.24).

Despite the owner of the property unlawfully operating this AirBnb since May 2024 as a 7 BEDROOM property hosting up to 14 GUESTS, granting this application will continue to allow significant disruption to our quiet neighbourhood.

The ongoing issues include:

  • Excessive Noise Pollution: Frequent parties and gatherings disrupting the peace.
  • Environmental Health Concerns: Inadequate waste disposal plans and increased littering affecting the area.
  • Safety Concerns: The influx of strangers raising concerns about the safety and security of the community.
  • Traffic and Parking Issues: Cars blocking the road due to increased parking/traffic from the Airbnb guests.

We urge the Local Council/ Planning Control to reject this application and to put a stop to the ongoing, detrimental issues caused by this Airbnb, which local residents have already endured for months.

Local residents can make an official objection to the planning application here:

This application does not meet the local plan by allowing this it will not providing more and better homes. This application will lose a home for a family. Also the increased parking in what already is a heavy demand for parking.

It's a disgrace when my elderly father has to walk in the road to get by as the cars and people are on the pavement, and I have had to turn my car around as the people staying there were all in the road and quite intimidating. The rubbish outside is also a concern attracting vermin .

We live down the road from this house, this is not possible to handle, the noise is too much, my kids cannot sleep because of it, the street around that house is always full of parked cars and sometimes people that are using that house don’t look friendly at all.

Approving this change of use shows blatent disregard for the community and exacerbates the housing crisis, preventing the house being used as a home and instead allowing blatent profiteering at the expense of the neighbourhood.

Came past here a few weekends back thought Elm Park had its own nightclub. I counted 14 people out on the drive all smoking and drinking feel so bad for the neighbours having to just put up with this and landlords not caring cause they don’t live in the area they just take the money.

Object to this planning permission due to the severe disruption to road access due to the increase in vehicles at said propwrty. Health & Safety wise in the potential blocking and prohibiting of emergency vehicles accessing the road.

How can this be acceptable or approved at any level, it is completely out of keeping with surrounding residential dwellings and destined to cause disruption and aggravation to the genuine residence living in the immediate area!
