Dear all tenants of 10 Muir Street,
My name is Sophie and I have recently moved into this building.
Victoria Body Corporate Services has recently requested that we remove our bicycles from common areas such as under the stairwell and in the lower ground level room. The Body Corporate argues that our bikes pose an OH&S risk in these locations, however they have neglected to offer us an alternative place to store our bikes that is both secure and poses no risk.
I am appealing to you in the hopes of coming together as a group to convince the Body Corporate and Owners Corporate that we should be offered a resolution in the shape of safe storage for our bicycles.
In 2022, when our world is facing such dire climate prospects, we should be encouraged to ride bikes and supported to do so by having things like safe storage made a priority.
Even if you do not own one of the bikes in the pictures circulated in the Body Corporate's letter to us, I am hoping that you will help those of us who rely on our bicycles to travel to work, pick up groceries, ride recreationally, and so forth to attain secure storage for our bikes which are often a considerable investment.
I thank you for your time and hope to see your signature on the petition.
Kind Regards,
Sophie

Bikes should be allowed to park. Its basic necessity, very important for daily commute.
