The bike shelter we have outside our building has a very poor design. It is ridiculously high, therefore not appropriate to cover bikes in case of rain/snow. It is not the first time that the saddle of my bike has been soaked with water after leaving it in the shelter on a rainy day.

I raised a complaint before, asking if it would be possible to refurbish the shelter, but I got no response.

If anyone is interested in supporting the cause I am planning to collect signatures and then go the Facilities Managers at University of Surrey for a chat.

Please sign if you wish to have the bike shelter at the Leggett Building refurbished!

The momentum is building. It is clear that the faulty shelter is a frustration for many.

Completely useless structure. Not fit for purpose at all as it does not shelter anything.

On the snow days, there was more snow under the "shelter" than there was around it; doesn't have any purpose at all.

It looks as if a two-tier roof was put on by mistake. I spoke to the guys who were installing it because it was obvious it wouldn't protect the bikes. They just shrugged their shoulders in agreement.

Ridiculous design if it is intended to keep the bicycles dry?!

If they just take of a bit it would be so much better ,my bike still gets wet when it rains.
