To Whom This Concerns: As you may know, there are 4 bike racks at the HRC: One at each side door and two at the front entrance. If you have walked by these racks in the evening, it is clear that there is not enough room for everyone in this residential college who owns a bike. You may have seen as many as 4 or 5 bikes hooked to one loop, some free standing near the racks, several locked to trees and benches. There simply is not enough space for all those who own a bicycle here in the HRC. This petition is signed by the members of the HRC that own a bike, know someone who owns a bike, or empathize with those that have to spend several minutes, often at night in the rain, to shove their bike into an inadequate amount of space. We all have the right to lock our bikes safely, just as anyone with a parking pass has a right to a parking space.  The most requested place for a new rack is the front of the building.  Please consider our request.
