Please watch: KATU News Story (aired July 2, 2026)

We are requesting a traffic flow study and immediate safety improvements at the high-traffic intersection of HWY 210 (SW Scholls Ferry Rd.) and HWY 219 (SW Hillsboro HWY) in Scholls, including a 3-way stop and a traffic light.

This intersection needs a change in traffic flow and lower speeds so people can move through it safely. Right now, the road conditions create danger for everyone who uses it, whether they are driving, walking, or passing through the area every day. Our community should not have to live with unsafe traffic and the fear that comes with it when this problem can be addressed.

In 2024, ODOT told us they were initiating a Preliminary Review of the intersection.  They have not provided any information about whether or not they ever actually did initiate that review, but it is never too late to do the right thing.

We are asking ODOT to get involved now and review the situation before anyone else is hurt. A proper traffic flow study can help identify the best solution and guide the right changes to protect the people of Scholls.

We do not want our community to be known for dangerous road conditions and traffic fatalities when this is fixable.
Please stand with us in this effort by adding your information below.
Signatures will be delivered to the State ODOT office.

Brandon Henderson was a long time friend of mine. He was a good friend good husband good father and just someone who everyone who knew him is sad to see leave us. This is important to me to make sure no other families get the call about a tragic accident at this intersection. This has been a tragic loss for a lot of people.

I don't want anymore people to get injured or lose their life because of poor city street designs. How hard would it be to put a stop sign to save lives

Intersection needs a stop signs at the T section, so no one else has to die. Mph says 45 and people do 55 mph. Very dangerous section.

I am signing because this is my nephew and he was a vibrant young man who didn't deserve to die at an intersection that has not been fully addressed by the local government.

I have been through this intersection many times and have either seen accidents almost happen or almost been hit. The vision is terrible and is going to cause serious injury or worse

This is a dangerous intersection that I have to drive through every day and constantly am fearful. Please change this intersection!

This is a very challenging intersection, with limited sight lines. Residential development in the surrounding areas are forcing our hand; Washington County, let's make this intersection safer!

No lives should have ever been lost. Something should have been done long before now.
