HELP!  

Sign our petition for approval of Whitley Bays Joint Service Centre here. The proposed development will provide new facilities housed under one roof:

  • Large modern library incorporating large computer suite with free internet access and study spaces
  • Health facilities for two GP practices
  • Rent and council payment counters
  • Tourist information centre
  • Children's and teenage area
  • Flexible community activity space
    • This scheme is an integral part of the towns ongoing regeneration and will not only provide modern community facilities for residents and visitors but will create employment and importantly increase footfall and boost trade in the heart of the town. Petition timescales below:
       
      8 December 2010 The Council to write to those notified/consulted about original planning application
      5 January 2011  Written appeal statements due including petitions and individuals personal views to the Planning Inspectorate, either submit own written views or download the pre-written statement, link shown on right.
      26 January 2011  Rebuttal Statements due
      Inspectors Site Visit  -  TBC
      Decision  -  TBC but expected March/April 2011
