Any objection MUST be lodged with the council by 3 October 2012
This planning application seems to be being rushed through and local residents have only just been made aware of the proposal. The council planning website does not make it very clear what to do to lodge a view or object. We have found out the closing date for lodging an objection or making your voice heard is 3 October 2012.
From the local feeling we have heard, this is not what most people who live here want and it is certainly not being put out freely for peoples' views and opinions.

The feedback from local residents has been overwhelming and highlights just how much this building means to our collective memory of the area. I am currently busy collating these perspectives to ensure they are presented clearly when we submit our formal response to the planning department.

Seeing this level of engagement confirms that our community truly values the architectural heritage of London Road. This momentum proves that many people believe this historic building deserves a future that respects its character. We are now preparing to present these objections to the council with the weight of this collective concern behind us.

Ridiculous. Brighton is becoming a concrete jungle. Keep the facade and leave the rest alone. Enough is enough.
351 units?? where on earth are they going to put everyone. the area cant handle that kind of traffic as it is.
We need local shops not more student accommodation. think about the community for once instead of just the money.
London road has lost enough of its character already. stop tearing down the history just for more student blocks we dont need.
TOTAL GARBAGE. GREEDY DEVELOPERS RUINING EVERYTHING.
