In summary, the petition expresses the dissatisfaction of the residents in relation to delays with the new community facilities and calls for an open public meeting on that subject in the near future.

Clanfield Community and Sports Centre

On behalf of the Windmill View Residents' Association (WVRA) and together with residents in the wider parish of Clanfield, we write to express our collective dissatisfaction in response to the statements of the Clanfield Parish Council (CPC) relating to the Clanfield Community and Sports Centre (CCSC) issued on 4 and 17 October 2017.

Whilst we have the utmost respect for the individual Councillors of the CPC and East Hampshire District Council (EHDC), we feel disappointed with the continued delays, lack of transparency and the confusion over the handover and, ultimately, the opening of the CCSC.

Many residents simply cannot understand why no better plan has been previously put in place for the quick and efficient handover of the CCSC, nor why such a facility has been permitted to be built in the parish without clear and certain arrangements for the ultimate operation and management of such facility on behalf of our community.

We now respectfully request that the CPC and EHDC hold an open meeting in the immediate future for the purposes of updating parish residents as to the current situation and explaining now the future steps being taken to ensure the swift and effective handover and opening of the CCSC to the benefit of the community of Clanfield.

We invite your response and further comment, which we should be grateful to receive without delay.
