This petition has been created in support of recent plans (17/01464/FULM) to renovate the Grand Hotel in Leigh on Sea. Numerous residents have objected to the proposals, for legitimate (and not so legitimate) reasons. However, I truly believe that if the current owner of the Grand walks away from the project, then the building will continue to fall into disrepair and decay. Whilst the plans may not be to everyone's taste, the potential is truly remarkable, and signals the continuance of great things for our beautiful town. Please ask yourselves: if you had the choice between a slowly decaying building which may ultimately have to be demolished, or a the redevelopment of an iconic building, which would you choose?

we are getting so many signatures lately for the grand hotel project. if you live or work in leigh could you send this to a local friend who hasnt signed yet so we can blast past 500. lets keep this momentum going so they really see how many of us want this done.

im still talking with folks about the plans and the feedback is really mixed but the building cannot just sit there and rot forever. dont let anyone tell you this isnt worth saving because that hotel is part of leighs history and we have to push for a better future for it.

were almost at a hundred signatures and i really need you guys to reach out to your neighbors in town so we can cross that mark today. if we keep this momentum going the planning office is going to have to take notice of what we want for the grand.

The building looks like a complete eyesore right now. Anything is better than leaving it to rot away. Get it done
About time! Stop the constant complaining and let someone actually put some money into the place for once.
Lived in Leigh my whole life and it breaks my heart seeing the Grand like this. Just let him fix it up already.
So tired of the moaners in this town. It needs life brought back into it. This project is perfect for that location

Yes! We need somewhere decent to go in Leigh. The decay is depressing.
