We are asking the Town of Islip to close off the West entrance to West 3rd Street as it is a dangerous fork off of the service road of Sunrise Highway allowing motorists to turn down our block at a high rate of speed. West 3rd Str has many young children that play in their front yards and too many times have motorists taken that corner so fast that they have run over the edge of our yard or have clipped our parked cars. This is a non-functional entrance that NEEDS TO BE CLOSED OFF! Children deserve the right to play in their front yards without fear of motorists hitting them as they play because THE MOTORIST RACE AROUND THAT BEND OF A CORNER at such a high rate of speed!!! We ask the town of Islip to take action before a horrific accident happens!! Let's be PRO-ACTIVE and not REACTIVE!!!
