It has come to the attention of the students that Park Center High School wishes to replace the Hmong 1 and 2 teacher Mr. Yaj ceeb vaj. We students as a collective want you to reevaluate this decision. This teacher has been a safe learning space for many of his students, and has been a good becon of light for his students. We would like for Mr. Vang to remain here at Park Center Senior High.
Our hmong teacher is being falsely accused of teaching students inappropriate topics by another colleague of his. We believe this is the reason why he isn't being rehired to teach us next year. Though the school won’t tell us the reason behind him being replaced as a teacher, all they tell us is that they found someone better. What we are trying to do is spread awareness of the situation and sign petitions to let him teach hmong next year.

The stories you have been sharing about how Mr. Vang helped you navigate your own identity prove exactly why he belongs in our classroom. I have been spending my time meeting with school administrators to demand the transparency we deserve regarding this sudden transition. We will not let them push aside an educator who has given so much to our community.

Seeing this community rally for Mr. Vang feels like a weight lifting off my chest. He has always protected us and now it is our turn to protect his place in this school.

As a well respected Park Center alumni, it makes me very upset to see that this XibFwb was not treated with the same level of respect and support as any other Hmong educator. It is hard to find teachers with as much knowledge about hmong culture as XibFwb YajCeeb. His experience and journey makes him a better educator and teacher to Hmong students. It would be a shame to replace him.
Mr vang deserves to stay, he’s a good father of 6 who he takes amazing care of and is an amazing teacher who treats all his students fairly.
Mr.Vang is the reason why I’m getting my credit. I don’t appreciate the fact that he’s getting fired with no deeper reasoning. Mr.Vang has better experience in our culture and everyone is willing to learn. I don’t know why Ms.Yer was against him from the start.
As a Student who has no Hmong back ground,Mr vang has made me feel extremely welcomed and feel that I can learn in a safe space without being judged. Him leaving would more than likely have the effect of Students being less motivated and not wanting to learn nor take the course(this also applies to myself). As a student of pc it makes me sad that me and my fellow students barely have a voice say word in our teacher and class matters.
I want to clarify that Mr. Vang is being falsely accused of teaching students innaproppiate topics.
My child is a student of Mr. Vang at Park Center High School (PCHS) 2023-2024. Although I am a parent fluent in Hmong and English, my child would benefit from a teacher with knowledge and experience in teaching the language. I was looking forward to him taking a Hmong class with Mr. Vang again, as I noticed a significant improvement in my child's verbal and written communication. Based on our experience, the learning has been positive. I am disappointed by the news that Mr. Vang will not be teaching in the coming year. I understand that an academic institution cannot release certain information to the parents and students of PCHS for confidential reasons. Still, I hope the decision to dismiss Mr. Vang or any teacher in this situation is carefully evaluated to prevent bias, accusations, and employment discrimination.
As a parent of a PCSH student who has had the pleasure of being in Mr. Vang’s class, I am highly disturbed and disappointed in the decision to remove Mr. Vang. My child has always had the highest praises and told me he has learned the most from Mr. Vang. He looks forward to school because of Mr. Vang’s class. These are all indicators of the type of educator Mr. Vang is. He is a great teacher who genuinely cares about his students. Park Center needs to be more transparent with their students and families and should have provided communication as to why they removed Mr. Vang. How utterly traumatic for students to discover their beloved teacher has been suddenly removed. Park Center will not be able to replace Mr. Vang. His level of knowledge and passion for teaching is unbeatable. What a loss for Park Center.

Should never replace a teacher who could teach their student a language fluently and could be able to teach Hmong men and women traditional Hmong culture. He is able to correctly teach us how to pronounce Hmong properly, and he is able to teach us the history of Hmong culture, how our alphabet came to be, and the meaning of Hmong. -Jacky Lee #WEWANTMRVANGBACK
