English teacher Clay Jackson's contract has been cut due to what was vaguely explained as budget cuts. He is on what would have been his last year out of 3 before gaining a longer contract.
The reasoning for this could also be due to the fact Mr. Jackson speaks up against school admins for what is right, instead of sucking up to authority and staying quiet. This is only speculation and even if this is not the case, it is important for teachers to be able to voice their opinions and to have someone like Mr. Jackson who is not afraid to do so.
Mr. Jackson is an amazing teacher who creates a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. He goes above and beyond in order to create meaningful connections with each student. This effort makes his class much more special and engaging. Every student should have a teacher that they can trust and that makes them feel valued. For many, this teacher is Mr. Jackson.

Mr. Jackson deserves to stay at Chaska. Me and my friends know this petition can’t really save him, but I’ve still been refreshing it nonstop. Even though it isn’t realistic to think he’ll get his job back, I hope Mr. Jackson knows how much he means to us. Hopefully this petition can show him that. Mr. Jackson is a great teacher who stands for the students here, provides a safe and enjoyable environment, and is being treated unprofessionally. Another loss for CHS.
Mr. Jackson is one of those teachers that makes a lifelong, positive impact on students. This will be a real loss for CHS. He’ll be hired fast by another district and will go very far with his teaching career. Students of CHS need Mr. Jackson. Please reconsider.
Mr jackson is one of the best english teachers I've had and a great guy he genuinely cares about his students and staff he has helped me through personal problems in my life and I would like to see him stay at chaska high
He's an incredible teacher I can't believe they would even consider letting him off. The world needs more teachers that are willing to tell the truth and actually connect with their students like he does.
Mr Jackson is an extremely brilliant young Teacher whom I have great respect for. From balancing maturity and professionalism, to being comedic and approachable in all the right moments. Letting him go is not the just decision for what he’s brought his students and coworkers. His young age greatly affects how comfortable students feel asking for advice without giving them a direct answer. His attitude towards being a defining role in a students success for not only the class, but their future is beyond most teachers I’ve ever had.
