We Support an Athletic Field and Public Park at 91st Street and East Trailside View!
We support Great Hearts as it seeks to enter into a joint agreement with the City of Scottsdale to develop a public park on a roughly 12 acre parcel owned by the City of Scottsdale at the southwest corner of 91st Street and East Trailside View.
Great Hearts is working closely with the City of Scottsdale and the DC Ranch Community Council in order to provide Scottsdale children, the students of Scottsdale Prep and the DC Ranch neighborhood with a great public park with various amenities including a football/soccer field, a track, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts and a playground.

Win-win-win proposal. The City gets a long-planned $4.5 million neighborhood park at no cost to taxpayers. Great Hearts gets its long sought field space. The community gets an awesome park with a much more optimal location for the Great Hearts field than one 3-acre site across the street.
A city park at that location would be fabulous. We are often in that area for hockey at the Ice Den and rock climbing at AZ on the Rocks. It would be nice to have a park nearby to enjoy between classes. A park there would also benefit the kids at Scottsdale Prep.
We are residents of DC Ranch and we do not have a problem with the recreational area Great Hearts would like to develop. This area will bring added value to the entire neighborhood.
This is a win-win! So glad Great Hearts has interest and funds to develop this site that otherwise would remain unutilized for many many years. The site's development as a public park and athletic field benefits the neighborhood as well as the school.
As a Scottsdale resident and as a parent of Scottsdale Prep and Archway Academy Scottsdale students, I whole-heartedly support the development of this field and park. I hope everyone will give careful consideration to what is in the best interest of our youth before voicing concerns!

Dear Scottsdale City Council Members: As a DC Ranch homeowner, my family & friends will NEVER SUPPORT Great Hearts school. “Great Hearts’ policy isolates, stigmatizes, and delegitimizes transgender people. ... No person should ever have to endure the indignities that Great Hearts imposes on transgender students and their families,” ACLU Arizona Executive Director Alessandra Soler. The LGBTQ community in Arizona, the ACLU, Scottsdale voters and thousands of supporters will be heard. This project WILL NOT HAPPEN!

Public parks and joint/shared use agreements with schools are the most cost-effective way for cities to provide much needed local accessibility to neighborhood amenities for physical activity. Ask any public health official: this is a no-brainer for both parties. The idea is right. Now let's get the details right too.
