In Support of a Mural on the South Walls of the Playground at Astoria Heights Park
We, the undersigned residents of Astoria, support the creation of a mural in the Astoria Heights Park playground. We believe that our neighborhood’s children deserve a safe, clean, and beautiful place in which to play and that a mural would be a terrific improvement to our park.
We are signing this petition to demonstrate our conviction that the mural project represents an important and worthwhile endeavor deserving of our enthusiastic support. It would make the playground more attractive and make us proud as neighborhood residents who care about our park.
We feel that the process of creating and installing a mural as a community will be a galvanizing force for good in our neighborhood as it has proven to be in so many others.

The feedback I have received from neighbors regarding the proposed mural has been encouraging and insightful. I am currently coordinating with local artists to outline potential themes that celebrate the history of Astoria Heights Park. Plans for a formal presentation to the parks department are underway as we continue to gather momentum for this project.

The momentum surrounding our proposal for the Astoria Heights Park mural has grown significantly in recent weeks. It is encouraging to see our neighbors unite behind the idea of transforming this space into a more vibrant environment for our children.

The park looks so dull right now. A nice mural would really brighten the place up for the kids.

ABOUT TIME. Astoria needs more color and art. lets make it happen already.
my kids love playing here but it feels so concrete heavy. art makes such a difference in public spaces.
Good project. My grandkids are going to love it.
