RESPECT CALIFORNIA'S "HEALING"!

We, the under-signed residents of the California neighborhood and friends of California and Louisville’s West End, oppose BRINGING ANOTHER Healing Place facility to the California Neighborhood. at 1615-1617 Maple St.. We respect The Healing Place's work, but say 'enough is enough' to having a SURPLUS of transitional facilities for at-risk populations in one neighborhood. Long time homeowners, residents & business owners in California are working to restore their community. As more boarding homes, halfway houses and treatment facilities (e.g. Healing Place for Women at 15th & Hill) have appeared nearby, California’s own “healing” has been seriously compromised. Drug activity is rising. Increasingly, predators seeking prostitution are making California unsafe for children, youth and females walking in the neighborhood. We urge the Healing Place to respect California and West Louisville which already have their share of group facilities. Addiction know no jurisdiction. Please demonstrate compassion by spreading their good work to under-served communities in East Louisville
