Our community is passionate about this matter, and we are gathering signatures from residents who agree that We, the undersigned members of the community, stand in opposition to the Glad Tidings Church’s proposal to establish a sex trafficking rehabilitation center called piece of heaven children’s center at the former women’s prison in Live Oak 2800 Apricot st. We respectfully ask the city council to carefully evaluate the potential adverse effects this facility could have on our town. In particular, we ask that you reject the proposal due to concerns about its possible negative impact on property values and the safety of our community. We urge the city council to reconsider this plan in order to preserve the well-being of our neighborhood. We urge you to consider our petition and take the necessary steps to relocate the facility outside of city limits.
Glad Tidings Church plans to purchase the property by the end of October 2024.

Glad Tidings has plenty of land near their church to build something like this. There is already a halfway house being built for addicts, can our fire police and medical handle the increase in calls? How does Live Oak benefit from this? It will not generate revenue for the city. No tax revenue. Our Police and fire are already in the red.
This is a good idea but horrible location! I’m all for it but the concern is that sex traffic predators have ways to track their victims down! We DO NOT NEED THAT IN OUR COMMUNITY!!! This opens doors for criminals to come to our town and potentially harm our children or take them!!!
This type of facility should not be so close to family homes, parks and the headstart school. I hope they find somewhere else to put it!
I agree that this type of facility would be better suited outside of city limits.
I say no to this facility being in this neighborhood, for the safety of my family

I think this is not the right fit for these kids that have been through so much.
