We, the undersigned residents and community members, respectfully support The Recovery House and its request for a Special Use Permit to operate a residential recovery facility at 9101 Wilshire Ave. The Recovery House provides a safe, structured, and supervised living environment that supports individuals in recovery while promoting accountability, stability, and positive community involvement. We believe this use will contribute positively to the health, safety, and welfare of the neighbourhood and the county, and we respectfully urge approval of the Special Use Permit.

I highly recommend that Recovery House continue to to operate in their current location. This is more about loving our neighbor as ourselves and not about housing resale values. To have this program in this area shows the community cares about people that need support. Its a low threshold of people (at RH) that need recovery help and not about lines of homeless waiting to spend the night in a shelter. This is an opportunity to help people without spending a dime. Lets do it and keep RH at their location. It blends in well with the community.
New Mexico is in great need for programs like the Recovery House. This is a positive resource for the residents in Albuquerque.

I believe that providing an environment for individuals who are trying to maintain sobriety and rebuild their life is something that as a society, we should be encouraging and supporting. I believe that as a society, we need to work to remove the stigma of addiction and mental health, especially for those who are doing their best to get back on track rather than continuing to judge them and demonize them for their addiction. I believe that we should be showing Love to others because many of these individuals have not had the best start in life or had the best influences so they are already behind the curveball. Why not be examples of love and support, and help create positivity and change in their lives. I believe we should help to be part of the solution instead of adding to the problem.
