Final supporters
The newly released fee structure represents an average increase of 500% from the most recent rates and are significantly higher than other State and City Recreations Centers. This is completely unacceptable!
We deserve affordable rates which are in line with other State and City run facilities. (See RIOC and comparable facility rates below).
For example:
RI Resident adult rates have jumped from $300/year to $125/month or $1,500 year
RI Resident senior rates have gone from ZERO to almost $1,200/year
A supervising RI parent of 2 children would have to pay $175/month
Add pool only or gym only memberships
Please rethink the fees and come back to the community with something reasonable.

We lived on Roosevelt island for almost 36 years. My husband is 71 years and retired. I am a teacher on the island and I am retiring soon. This is above our budgets. We both love swimming. Please please do something about the fees.
I am retired 79 years old swimming pool is important for me. I have arthritis and hardly walk water helps me with my pain and condition! Membership in a our pool is not for retired persons!
permit pricing for non-residents used to be twice the resident price. That helped keep prices lower for residents. Maybe it should be 3x for non-residents so resident pricing can be lower?
I am a senior citizen living on a modest income in an affordable housing building on RI. Please make these rates for membership more affordable so I can join. We need separate membership fees for the gym and the pool.
The new price structure is outrageous. The new gym is no Equinox and should not be priced as such. This is a state run facility not a private company. My elderly mother has been waiting for the pool to reopen but now she cannot afford it.
The new proposed fees are outrageous and unreasonable -- totally out of step with reality for a community rec center.

Sportspark was built w/federal PUBLIC FUNDING. Therefore, the fees should be MINIMAL. RIOC is GOUGING the public if a community whose only recourse is to pay to travel into Manhattan or Queens for the same facilities. These current fees are unconsciable.
