The Marq in Southlake Texas recently released its proposed membership rates for residents to use its Champions Club (gym) when it opens later this year.

For RESIDENTS of southlake, it is $513/yr for individuals and $1129/year for families. The discount for being a resident is only ~$50-100/year compared to non-residents. To compare, Keller Pointe is $398/year for individuals and $627/year for families. Grapevine Rec is $125/year for individuals and $315/year for families.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION if you feel that the rates for the Marq are too high and/or if you feel that Southlake residents should receive a larger discount compared to non-residents.

ALSO PLEASE LET YOUR NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS KNOW TO SUPPORT THIS PETITION IF THEY FEEL THE SAME WAY.

Let's let city leadership know that this gym should be financially accessible to all Southlake's residents and that the bulk of Southlake's residents want a reduction in the proposed fees.

I have spent the last few days hearing from families who are simply priced out of a facility they helped fund with their own tax dollars. City hall has remained quiet on these proposed rates but your stories are proving that this burden is felt across every neighborhood in town.

Seeing this response from my own neighbors shows just how much these price hikes are hurting our families. It is clear that we want a facility that actually reflects the community interest rather than these inflated costs.

Fees for the gym at the Marq are way to high. I think a lot of folks won’t use the gym then we’re stuck paying for a building that isn’t being used. An explanation of why the fees are so high is needed.

Family has been waiting for this facility to open, but given the almost $1200 price tag for the family, we feel we are taken for a ride just because we live in Southlake. Even though we can afford it, it does not feel right!!!

As Retired 30 year Southlake homeowners, we were looking forward to joining CC. No way we can at those rates. Maybe that’s what they want.

This is ridiculous that residents should pay almost the same as nonresidents. Pricing should be on the same scale as comparable pricing like Keller point and the Grapevine REC. It shouldn’t be more expensive than private gym memberships with multiple facilities. After all this is a community facility paid for with community tax dollars.

Rates are much too high. We can join NRH, Keller, Grapevine as a NON-resident for less cost than Southlake as a resident. That just isn't right. Plus the facilities in Keller and NRH are very nice.

I can join 24 hour fitness for $200 per year with lots of amenities and unlimited classes. This proposed rate at the Marc is ridiculous. Additionally residents should get at least a 25% discount. I am a retired senior, who pays over a $1k per month in property taxes. And you want to keep digging in my pockets for everything.

Its way overprice. Marq's rate should be competitive with bordering town's gym prices.

There should be a much lower price for residents of Southlake. We deserve that.
