We, the undersigned, strongly oppose up-zoning of 1528 A Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, from anything other than single-family occupancy. We agree with the Council's past statements and policies that affirm increased density created by up-zoning threatens a neighborhood's health and safety, negatively affects neighboring property values and city tax base. We are concerned that this change in policy may start a dangerous precedent for transforming neighborhoods. Mound View is appreciated by residents and other citizens because of its history, character, and older structures. We acknowledge there are some areas of Mound View that could use an influx of financial support but we believe an occupancy change is not the answer as the neighborhood tries to stabilize, preserve, and revitalize this area.

As a concerned citizen.....MVNA has taken a stand against conversions like this. Please respect their wishes, the neighborhood does not need more density, this is already a poorly maintained block, and the landlord in question does not have a good track record for maintaining his properties. Please don’t reward bad behavior.

Lower density . We need to keep our inner core neighborhoods intact. If this is approved what's next, a four plex? If you let this happen in Mound View it could happen in your neighborhood next.

This area is already too densely populated and this block is already in need of attention. Our single family homes and beautiful houses need to be kept.

Core neighborhoods need less density, not more.

This needs to remain single family...as it has always been. Thanks for listening to the residents of this neighborhood.
