Donald Trump is planning to waste $30 million to $50 million allocated for a third world style parade. That money can reduce or end veteran homelessness. Provide better mental illness healthcare to reduce veteran suicide rates. Help veterans obtain education, training, and job placement. If he really cared about our men and women in uniform this is not how to do it by stroking his own ego.
Seeing this groundswell of support reminds me that so many of my fellow veterans refuse to let our brothers and sisters be ignored for the sake of a spectacle. This momentum proves that we prioritize real aid for those struggling on our streets over a hollow display of ego.

Mr. President, Some apologists are saying you're doing this FOR the military. It feels like you're doing it TO the military. I'm sorry, sir, but this feels childish, like something a 9 year-old would ask for while writing an essay entitled "If I were President for a Day." There are better ways to use or honor the military and use the funds then have an hour to show off our weaponry and troops. Please reconsider.

Veterans & the poor die Every. Single. Day. from poverty, homelessness, untreated medical & mental conditions, and to WASTE millions of dollars on frivolities like outrageously expensive doors, dining tables, first class tickets for civil servants AND an utterly unwanted & wasteful military parade is vile, egocentric BS. I am constantly stunned by how low-brow & childish this administration can sink until they top it with yet another shameful & disturbing act against the intent our founders intended for this democratic republic.

Military parades should be reserved for recognition of triumphs or the return of troops from overseas.

The money going into a military parade, at the whim of a man who is playing with soldiers, would be better spent on vets, troops and the military! We don’t need a parade - our troops deserve better services, equipment and lives!

Egocentric is not America. Waste of money. Want to honor our military? Better use of that taxpayer $$....No more homeless vets. No more military families on welfare. Affordable HC. And don’t waste billions on that stupid wall.

I grew up in the "we will BURY you" era. I remember the Red Square parades. They won't show appreviation for veterans; they are worship services for egotistical politicians. This is a 3rd-world dictator's idea of a good expenditure.

This is a serious misuse of our taxpayer dollars that need to be better spent elsewhere, and a complete disrespect to our military. This parade is purely for Trump's ego, and is totally unacceptable.
