Mansfield's Gas Well Drilling and Production Ordinances do not reflect protective
technology or science that is available. While other Texas Cities have updated
their gas well ordinances to include
this new science, Mansfield still remains out of step with that change.
Mansfield is already saturated with 206 drilled gaswells with another 306
permitted to drill. This activity has brought increase in nuisance odors, traffic, noise, and air pollution.
Concerns have emerged regarding safety, excess water consumption, aesthetics of
neighborhoods and property values. We have to work together to develop a progressive community with proactive ordinances, protect
citizen rights and be a place for future generations to thrive.
Proposed Changes:
- 1500-Foot Buffer Zone for Homes, Schools, Daycare Centers, Parks, and Nursing Homes
- All Electric Wells and Compressors
- State-of-the-Art Air Pollution Controls for Current and Future Wells
- Continuous Air and Water Monitoring
- Better Enforcement and Emergency Response
It's should completely ban from Mansfield and texas, we live on a neighborhood where our kids go to school with a well behind them.... It's completely ridiculous to risk the live of our kids not to mention the damage to the environment.
