The local authorities have formally agreed to revise the traffic enforcement strategy in Retford following our campaign. I appreciate the time each of you invested in this cause to protect our town trade. We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure these changes are implemented effectively.
I have been collecting personal accounts from local business owners who report a direct decline in foot traffic since the stricter parking enforcement began. These testimonies are being compiled into a formal report to present to the council members.

The level of engagement this petition has received confirms that the impact of current parking enforcement policies is widely felt across our business community. This momentum provides a clear mandate as we prepare to present these concerns to the council.

My mum once got to the car 1 minute after her ticket ran out because I was on crutches and could not keep up... This was ridiculous and I now refuse to park in council car parks

The current aggressive ticking of vehicles in the town is having a negative effect on the local economy, through decreasing the number of visitors to the town. Those who do shop in fear preventing browsing in the shop.

My husband was dropping our daughter off at dance class in town. Left his sister in the car with engine running and he got a ticket because she said she couldn't drive it as she only had a provisional and that he was going to be 2 mins. Due to parking issue and getting a fine we moved her dance schools

I now go to Gainsborough - free to park in Tesco for 3 hours and only 50p for 2 hours in Marshall's Yard. I very rarely go to Retford now because I'm not up for getting another parking ticket. Those wardens prowl like wild beats on the hunt and I've never known a town like it!

Some are very unfair and just wait for a innocent person to make a genuine mistake - such as the ticket blowing over when you shut the car door and then when you appeal it they basically tell you "not a chance, you still have to pay the fine!" - disgusting!

I was paying for a parking ticket when a warden started taking my car details to give me a ticket, when I showed him I had just purchased a tiket he said I should have had my hazards on? I've never been told this through my driving lessons or tests.

gone are the days when you could have a relaxing stroll round our beautiful town.it is bighted by numerous traffic wardens ,that are hell bent on giving out tickets.retford is not a large city with huge parking problems.ask any motorist that's had a ticket the majority of them will have been given a ticket for being minutes over their allotted time.shoppers cant determine how long they are going to be in a queue.supporting local businesses. How can it be right that you can be issued a parking ticket in the middle of summer at 7.00pm in the market square area.Ill tell you the wardens are like a pack of lions, out for the kill .Give the the people of Retford a chance, and also shopkeepers a chance to keep Retford alive
