We the people of Kilkenny, wish to see the new CAS bridge named after a true 'Son of Kilkenny'.
Dan, a man beloved by many, kept in our hearts, should never be forgotten - his name must stay in Kilkenny with the ages; remembered as clearly, and uttered as often, as the names of 'Rothe', 'Butler', and 'Kyteler'.
The people of Kilkenny may have been divided on the bridge, but we stand together on it's name.

I really thought this might just be a small idea that fizzled out but the way people are talking about Dan lately is honestly overwhelming and kind of beautiful. It feels like every time I open my phone there is another person mentioning how much he meant to them and it is just clear that this bridge needs to hold his name for a long time.

He was one of the most liked characters in Kilkenny. He was given his own reviewing stand for his last St Patricks Day Parade.
Dan led the StPatricks Day Parade every year without fail. A true gent and a true Kilkenny Legend.
One-lovely man grew up with him in the Butts would love to see the bridge called after him
It would be a geat tribute to Dan I was in St Patrick.s Band and Majorettes and have fond memories of Dan marching up front he was always so proud to be there
He always made the St Patrick's day parade for me just seeing his happy face made it great
Only fitting that kilkenny should give back.
No-one deserves it more than Dan
