Tarmacking the Mairo Inya – Shauri – Ndogino – Salama – Krampton Road.
Petition to Tarmac the Mairo Inya – Shauri – Ndogino – Salama – Krampton Road.
Did you know that the distance between Mairo-Inya Police Station and Salama Shopping Center is 15.3 kilometers? If this route is tarmacked, it will take you only 35 minutes to get from Ma-4 to Salama! (See Google Map).
Did you know that the distance between Mairo-Inya Police Station and Krampton Shopping Center is 11.3 kilometers? If this road is tarmacked, it will take you only 26 minutes to get from Ma-4 to Krampton! (See Google Map).
Did you know that the distance between Nyahururu's Mairo-Inya Police Station and Ndogino Shopping Center is 7.3 kilometers? If this road is tarmacked, it will only take you 15 minutes to get from Ma-4 to Ndogino! (See Google Maps).
Did you know that the Mairo-Inya Police Station in Nyahururu is 2.6 kilometers away from the Shauri Shopping Center? If this road is tarmacked, it will only take you 6 minutes to get from Ma-4 to Shauri! (See Google Maps).
On average, it takes 4 hours from Nyahururu town to Krampton Shopping Center instead of a Maximum of 1 hour – as this is a distance of 18.1 Kms. (See Google Map).
The Problem:
Since independence, the tarmacking of MAIRO INYA-SHAURI – NDOGINO – SALAMA – KRAMPTON ROAD has been a broken promise. Many of you who live in the regions served by this route are familiar with how it feels when it rains. It is nearly difficult to travel on the road.
We are witnessing a second generation from the LESHAU PONDO and KIRIITA wards who have yet to enjoy the convenience of travel on the tarmac.
The poor condition of this road has hampered the growth of the Shauri, Ndogina, Salama, and Krampton shopping centers.
If a woman requires special assistance for birth or is in an emergency and needs to travel to Nyahururu town, the expense of obtaining transportation is prohibitively expensive owing to the roads. Some have delivered on the way!
Owing to the high expense of maintaining their cars due to terrible roads, few matatu operators and owners are ready to risk their vehicles on this road.
Vehicles that travel this route must charge a premium to compensate for wear and tear caused by poor road conditions.
Due to poor road conditions, transporting agricultural products to the Mairo-Inya or Nyahururu markets is prohibitively expensive.
In view of the foregoing, I plea as a Citizen of Goodwill, affected by MAIRO INYA-SHAURI – NDOGINO- SALAMA- KRAMPTON ROAD that the MAIRO INYA-SHAURI – NDOGINO- SALAMA- KRAMPTON ROAD be tarmacked.
To put a stop to the misery that the people serviced by this route have undergone for decades, I sign this petition appealing to:
1. Hon. Jeremiah Kioni, MP for Ndaragwa, and Hon. Patrick Kariuki, MP for Laikipia West.
2. The Director-General, The Kenya Rural Roads Authority.
3. Director-General, The Kenya National Highways Authority (KenHA).
To provide responses regarding:
1. When will the MAIRO INYA-SHAURI – NDOGINO – SALAMA – KRAMPTON ROAD be Tarmacked?
2. What are the timelines or deadlines for this project?

The momentum behind this push is finally forcing the authorities to notice our struggle. These officials have ignored our broken roads for decades but they cannot pretend this movement does not exist anymore.

This road will help both nyandarua and laikipia in terms of agriculture. Growth will be eminent in both counties and the people of nyandarua will be happy
The situation here is very bad especially when you have a sick person cause the only means of transport is bodaboda which will charge you exorbitantly and there are not always there.Kerra you need to do something urgently
This roads have worsened, and our old parents and other residents having to use motor bikes on the treacherous roads is heart breaking. Something needs to be done!!
This road has been used as a campaign tool since late Eighties. This should come to an end by tarmacking it.
This road is a connection of major towns.... Rumuruti, Nanyuki, Nyahururu and other agricultural sectors in Nyandarwa County. Someone hear our cry and work on this road.
Tarmac the road!
By the Mercies of God.. please our leaders!

I'm in support of this petition considering the fact that this road is in bad state and nearly impassable during the rainy season. Good roads means faster movement of both people and goods and easier and faster access of services for the residents
