We ask the Board of Selectman to recommend Lieutenant Todd Fitzgerald as the next Police Chief of Manchester by-the-Sea. As a life long resident of MBTS, Lieutenant Fitzgerald has served with distinction, rising through the ranks of the department, and currently acting as interim Chief. The choice could not be easier. Lieutenant Fitzgerald has earned the respect of not only the residents of town, but also the respect of the men and women with which he serves. Community policing works best when your Chief of Police is from the very community he or she has chossen to serve. We ask the Board of Selectman to act locally, and support Lieutenant Fitzgerald.

Former resident on Desmond Ave and graduate of the old Manchester Jr. Sr. High School. Grew up and went to school with Lt. Fitzgerald - He is a excellent choice for Police Chief !!!
Not sure what the thought process was, if it is true that Acting Chief Fitzgerald didn't get an interview. BOS is missing a great opportunity to hire a fine candidate.
I worked with Lt Fitzgerald for many years on the MPD. He knows Manchester and its people. He is smart, dedicated, and level-headed; has integrity, common sense, and experience. I have no hesitation saying that Todd would be an excellent Police Chief for Manchester.
I have worked directly with Todd for several years, and have always found him to be very professional and knowledgeable. He also knows the town, its issues and its history, which are very beneficial to the role and something an outside candidate cannot bring to thejob.
I highly recommend Lt Todd Fitzgerald for the position of Chief of Police. He has been a dedicated officer and public servant of this town. He is also a resident and a member of our community. As a Town we are lucky to have someone of this caliber and integrity to fill this position.
3rd generation townie in favor of Todd.
Todd has been doing an excellent job, no reason to change.

Jean and I support Todd Fitzgerald for Chief of Police in Manchester by the Sea. He has lived here the whole of his life, has come up the ranks through hard work and diligence, understands the machinations of the town and has served us all with loyalty, integrity and respect.
