Svon has always been an excellent officer and has served several small communities with dignity. He's also been involved in quite a bit of charity work. He would bring alot of pride to the job.
Szvon is THEE example of a servant to the community. I have known him for over 10 years and have seen him countless times serving school lunch in uniform, a crossing guard at school in the morning and passing candy out his squad car to the kids at Halloween. A true person our kiddos love, admire and look up to. Monticello would be on the losing end if our Village Board passed over Szvon for Chief of Police.
Szvon Conway is everything that we, the residents of Monticello, want to see in our next chief of police. He is energetic, reliable, compassionate, trustworthy, and most of all honest! Szvon has been with our police department for several years. Szvon is the best candidate for the position.
Officer Conway needs to be hired as Chief, because he shows great leadership, gets along great with the community, and is a humble person who understands people.
He is so great with everyone in the community, especially the kids/teenagers/young adults!
The office of police chief should not be chosen by a popular vote. It is the responsibility of the village board to select the best candidate based on the officer's history and ability to manage a small police department. One has to remember, law enforcement is under a microscope these days, if an officer has baggage it leads to civil litigation. The citizens of Monticello elected a village board, let them do their job and select the next chief of police, and, if you do not like who they chose step up and run against them at election time. I happen to think having someone from the outside with more experience with better training and ideas is needed for small police departments.

There couldn't be a more qualified candidate. Integrity and fairness is his code of conduct. A law enforcement officer who utilizes common sense.
