He has lived here the whole of his life, has come up the ranks through hard work and diligence, understands the machinations of the town and has served us all with loyalty, integrity and respect. I have known acting Chief Fitzgerald and his family for many years. Not only is he a strong and intelligent leader but he loves his community and the people in it. It is my belief that Chief Fitzgerald is the sensible choice for the position of permanent Chied of Police.

Not sure what the thought process was, if it is true that Acting Chief Fitzgerald didn't get an interview. BOS is missing a great opportunity to hire a fine candidate.

The Selectman and the hiring committee in Manchester will serve the townspeople best by hiring Todd as the Chief of Police and it would be an absolute disgrace if they hired someone form outside the department.Hiring from within is the right thing to do for those who wish to call lthemselves leaders

This town needs a familiar face and an experienced police official who is respected by the community and who has earned the right to lead. There is no other candidate who could possibly bring to this position what Todd Fitzgerald does. He is the obvious choice and shame on the hiring committee if Lt Fitzgerald is overlooked. The fact that we have wasted significant town dollars on recruitment from outside is unfortunate when the obvious choice is right under our noses.
