This petition is insisting that SUNY OCC makes the grading for the spring semester a pass/fail rather than a letter grade based system of classes continue to be online for the remainder of the semester. With the money we spend, even if it’s refunded, we should not have to turn to online courses mid semester and expect to obtain the same results. It’s unfair to the professors who don’t know how to access these amenities online and makes it even harder on students because of that. Please sign this in order to make the spring semester pass/fail instead of letter grades and percentages! Even if you do not go to OCC or attend another school, anything helps!
Seeing this momentum grow proves that I am not the only one struggling with the sudden shift to online classes. Knowing that so many of you feel the same deep frustration gives me the strength to keep pushing the administration for a fair grading system.

I had a death in the family early this semester and had just gotten my footing in classes just before this transition happened to online classes. This now affects myself and so many other students who may have had arrangements with teachers in order to improve grades in classes like Communications or Public Speaking who now have to add undo stress to teachers to figure out effective ways to fulfill the remainder of our syllabus requirements. Please consider a Pass/Fail instead of a letter grade this semester!

Although I understand these circumstances are NOT in the hands of any particular person, SUNY OCC upholds student academia and should understand the difficulties this situation has posed on students.
