As Students of Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy, we do not agree with faculty members who wants us to take our final exam on campus. This would defeat the purpose of taking online classes to eliminate spreading of the corona virus infection for the past year. Not only will this action put our family at risk but also hinder our ability to take exam. We understand that our progression as pharmacy students is important, but so is keeping our love ones safe.
According to the Texas Department of state Health Service, as of 11/03/2020 there have been almost 1 million corona virus cases, 18K fatalities and thousands of new cases daily in Texas. While we are doing our best to protect our family, we wish faculties would reconsider their decisions to have students come to campus for exams. This petition is for anyone who does not feel safe coming to school for exams or can not go due to COVID related situations. This includes not being able to find daycare because your kids are homeschool. Please sign, leave a comment and share with other students.

im still reading through all your comments and honestly the stories about childcare and family health are heartbreaking. im currently putting together a formal letter to send over to the department heads to show them exactly why this is such a huge problem for us.

i honestly cant believe how much momentum this has gathered in just a few hours. seeing everyone speak up makes me feel way less alone in this situation and shows the school we arent just going to stay quiet about our health.

Are there facilities for us to really do such a thing? This not a good public health move. Some of your students could be immune compromised. We do not have enough information about Covid-19 and Fall 2020 to put people in danger this way.
It is not safe and I will not put myself nor family at risk when we already have software to maintain academic integrity. It is obvious COVID rates are increasing .
When my son is out of school. I cannot make it to come campus for final exam. I do not have any family here to take care of my son.
I will not be able to take my finals if we have to come to campus. I have small children and no assistance with child care.
The school only checks temperature for COVID screening. This is not enough to make students feel safe.

This is ridiculous, I’m not coming to campus in the worst time of the covid, and if I contract the virus You can hear from my lawyer. A pharmacy school that doesn’t go by CDC guidelines needs to be in the news
