We NYCCT nursing students do understand that it is within the school’s system and regulations to fulfill the requirements of a hybrid course, but MULTIPLE students have agreed that we do not feel comfortable nor safe to sit in person for the final examination especially with the new COVID variant uprising. In fact, an executive order has been passed December 3rd, whereby the state is declared to be in a “State of Emergency”. Under such circumstances, we do not see it benefiting to be exposed to an infectious virus and put our health at risk for the sake of an exam that can be completed online, just as it has been for the past couple semesters. We do appreciate your hard work of seeing us become successful students and for holding us at your best interest. Thank you.

There is a new variant and NY state of emergency, our cohorts contracting COVID, and a new US case of the variant in California. I don’t feel comfortable with the final being in person in a small room with 60+ students. I don’t feel safe, thank you.
There is no reason to go in person the last two weeks, right before the holidays and seeing our families. This is putting others in unnecessary. risk.
They won’t let us go to lecture in person where we can actually learn and there are ~30 students but they will cram us in a room with ~100 students to take an exam. Make it make sense.
It's not safe to conduct a test in a crammed room. There's alternatives like running the tests over multiple days and people can be divided into those sessions. As a healthcare educational facility, y'all should know better!
I am scared of the new covid virus. My family has been afflicted so far with the death of my uncle. I am definitely uncomfortable with this.
I took my midterms while my daughter was sleeping in the other room and the other was doing her homework. It should not change for the final. This should be something to consider before students register and plan for the semester.
Who can do two final exams from the Department mess up at the same time?

It is not right they want us to come in for finals during a state of emergency but we can’t come for pinning ceremony. I am against coming in for both but it seems that city tech only cares about our safety when it suits them. I have already been in clinicals with a classmate who was Covid positive and no one reached out to me until a WEEK later.
