Hi everyone! For those of us who live in Lincoln Military Housing off base (801 housing-Vista Del Sol and Joe Davis) you may have noticed some sections of housing have small street lamps along the sidewalks while other sections do not. I have raised this complaint with management and they have asked me to create a petition to show the rest of the residents interest in the concern.

Any houses that do not face the parking lot deal with limited to no lighting making it unsafe for anyone walking to their door. With the unpredictability of our gates working or not, random individuals who do not reside in 801 housing may come in as they please which creates a worry whether our housing is safe. Also with spouses deploying constantly it's not safe for any individual or child to be walking around where it is not lit.

Please help in signing this petition to show LMH management that this is a concern for us residents.

I stay in Joe Davis and it a long dark walk to my front door with my 3 month old at night. 801 housing definitely needs more street lighting. This is not safe. I can barely see. I should feel safer living in base housing than I do off base. Since it is so dark it’s easier for people to break into your cars and houses. And my husband’s car has already been broken into the second month we were here in Joe Davis. We have never had to deal with anything like this. It’s very disappointing. It’s sad that my family and my property were safer off base in civilian housing than government housing.

Street lights should definitely be placed in 801 housing! The lights above our cars that don’t all work, aren’t enough for those that like to walk their pets at night or maybe have to work late or come home late from work.

Getting out the car with two Little’s ones and walking to the house is hard as it is but when there is no lights makes it 10times harder. Street lights would help so much and be less scary for my kids

I am a resident of 801, off base community and I know how scary it can be at night to walk my dog. Street lights are a necessity out here especially with as many break ins that have occurred.

I think 801 housing needs street lights. I have seen all the ladies post about how “teens” are trying to open their doors at night. I think it is a necessity.

I’ve been waiting on lighting in Two Mile and Aztec for years. Most of the time the lights over the car ports are out so it’s pitch black in the neighborhood. With coyotes and people that aren’t military affiliated being able to get in here, we definitely need them. Hopefully having sufficient lighting will help deter people from trying to rob us, which has been happening a lot lately. I know I’ll feel safer with lights outside, and I’m sure I’m not alone.
