The Department of Transportation has confirmed that an all-way stop sign will be installed at the intersection of Penolope and 79th Street. We have achieved the safety measure we requested and I will monitor the site until the physical installation is complete.

The volume of support for this petition has gained the attention of the local Department of Transportation. I have secured a meeting with the traffic safety division to present our case for an all way stop at this intersection.

cars never stop for pedestrians. putting a sign up is the least they can do.
I live right by there and people fly down that road like it’s a highway. something needs to change before someone actually gets killed.
so sorry to hear about your son. that intersection is a total nightmare for drivers and walkers alike.
RIDICULOUS that nothing has been done yet. my kids walk to school that way every day and i am always terrified for them
need stop signs. simple fix.

we see near misses here all the time. slow down people!
