We call on Chris Grayling MP to fire Jim O'Sullivan CEO of HIghways England- an organisation that causes severe amounts of stress, time wastage, extra petrol costs because it is incapable of coordinating night time road repairs to a competent standard eg leaving whole areas totally inaccessible and leaving drivers lost due to incompetent diversion signage or warnings on surrounding roads.

I have finished drafting a formal letter to Chris Grayling detailing the specific highway management failures reported by local commuters. My next step involves coordinating with a transport policy analyst to review these logs before we request a direct meeting with Highways England leadership.

The volume of support has now reached a scale that demands a formal response from the department. I have finalized a briefing document detailing the specific instances of signage failure to be submitted to Chris Grayling MP by the end of the week.

I wasted 1.5 hours driving to Norwich causing undue distress til 2am in the morning. A47 The following fortnight cost another hour when the A17 was closed. Trucks were getting lost too. A total wasre of time and resources and the roads are still full of potholes. Miles of road do not need to be shut. What is wrong with a contra flow ?
This happens way too regularly. Overnight diversion signs don't matter LESS they matter MORE as there's less visibility. Often diversions will put 2 hours on a journey which is already getting me home at 4am
As an evening worker who travels at night I am so sick of being held up for hours sometimes. The world is now on a 24 hour work day and I am tired for being punished for my job which requires evening motorway travel.
Our acts depend on the motorway network at night to get from job to job quickly. Missed gigs caused by uncoordinated road closures costs wages.
M2 and M20 closed tonight and no warning to motorists in Maidstone. So I ended up driving up the M20, then was diverted back to Maidstone onto the M2 which eventually closed at Gravesend. A complete nightmare to get back to London!
There needs to be ONE co-ordinated website that shows all the closures on the day and following few days!

The Highways Agency is not fit for purpose. As someone who does a lot of night time miles, I've lost count of the times I've been misdirected, not informed of closures, been informed of lane closures that don't exist. Etc Etc. To call them incompetent is being kind.
