We the undersigned petition the controlling authority to reconsider the traffic control during the Essential replacement of lighting in the Penmaenback tunnels

As has been seen and experienced during the first 10 days of this work there has been no consideration to peak times and weekends from the Authority and this has increased the risk of Accidents on the Minor roads surrrounding Penmaenmawr and Conwy and also the accessiblity for Emergency services during these peak Periods

We ask for the lane restrictions ot be removed during the peak times of 07:30 - 09:30 and 16:00 and 18:00 and during weekends,

The 2 mile journey through these roadworks has been increased from 4 minutes up to 2 hours, this is already having an effect on local businesses and people needing to travel to there place of work.

And now it has been announced the works for removal of the 2 roundabouts on the A55

This traffic control issue needs to be resolved to avoid an increase in risks to accidents and motorists safety,

Also part of this petions request under the freedom of information act , COPIES OF THE RISK ASSESSMENTS Associated with the traffic control for the duration of this contract

Looking at the comments so far it is clear to see there have been Numerous NEAR MISSES during the past 10 days, and clearly these have not been taken into account during the planning of this Work

My last journey through these works was extended by 2 hours. The police also had to get involved to manage the backed up traffic. I've yet to spot anybody working on the roadworks. The lane control should be suspended morning and evening rush hours

Took 2 hours to get through last Friday afternoon and all we saw was 1 guy digging a hole by the Puffin Café and I guy on his mobile watching him , This will kill the North Wales economy as people just wont set up business or visit the place , Pathetic

The A55 is truly horrendous. I have to use to get to work (Bangor to Flint). There is no consideration for local people. Miles of contra flow, no sign of any one working. The ultimate insult is the Portaloo in one of the coned off lanes in the tunnel.

It would be nice if common sense was used when planning these works .Rush hours should be taken into consideration and the lane restriction removed at such times .There are many times when i have driven along the A55 without any sight of work men or work done.

I have been delayed on numerous occasions and whilst I accept work has to be done, the way the roadworks have been planned, 2 different sets so close to one another on the weekend of 25th and 26th is nothing short of stunning.
