The State of Texas and the Imperial Sugar Company cannot ignore this growing tide of outrage any longer. We have built enough momentum to force their hand and make them look at the history they tried to bury. Keep the pressure on these corporations until they pay for their crimes.

This is a HISTORICAL GRAVESITE & should be treated as such. The legacy and historical fact of these man and children cannot be tossed aside.
As we demand honor and respect for the ancestors, the slavery clause still in the 13th Amendment means their descendants in prison are still enslaved. Justice now!
Demand local authorities work with Black activists and Black archeologists to honor the remains (penal colony of Black men & 1 woman) in a manner acceptable to the activists.
This is holy ground and should be treated as such. That starts with the management, maintenance, documentation and control of this site by those of African descent.
It’s unethical and morally wrong to desecrate graves! If it was any other ethnicity would this be happening? Be careful who you disturb souls they do live on! So distasteful!
Reparations are coming. Let Texas lead.

These 95 people whose graves were uncovered were worked to death by the wealthy landowners, and the State of Texas and its prison system. I support each and every demand in this petition. The unpaid labor by these people have made Sugarland the wealthy suburb that it is today. Reparations are due!
