This petition is activated to demand that the remains from Quaker Hills site 36LA1100 (Lancaster PA) be turned over to concerned Native American citizens of Pennsylvania. So that the remains of these Shenks Ferry Tribal Ancestors can be reburied respectfully back to where they originated from.
It is said that these remains have been stored in a cold basement in boxes, collecting dust and being disrespected. If theyre going to be disrespected like that, give them back to the people to have the proper ceremonies done over them while re-entering them into Mother Earth.
We ask that these remains be respected as if they were European,Asian,or colonial settlers remains. Please sign the petition!
In the Spirit of respect!

The Lancaster authorities think they can ignore us while these ancestors sit collecting dust in a basement. We are nearly at five hundred signatures so push harder now to show them we are not going away until these remains are returned for proper burial.

The momentum behind this fight is proof that people refuse to let the SHP continue their shameful storage of our ancestors in dark basements. We are finally forcing these institutions to confront the fact that they cannot treat human remains as museum inventory while we demand justice.

Sounds like they've had plenty of time to study the remains if they're just being warehoused now. Time's up.

How would you like it if a generation came in and dug up the remains of your parents and possible children and they them in a box and stored them in an old garage? Give the bones back to the native people and let their remains be buried with respect and honor.

Stop treating Native American burial sites as objects. They are sacred to our people, not there for your anthropological treasure hunt.

I agree, an experienced spiritual leader should definitly be called in for the ceremony. Reburial ceremony should not be taken lightly.

We, Huron-wendat people had to go through this too and reburied our ancestors at least three times in the last 14 years, last in septemeber 2013. Remains of Ancestors must rest in peace under the protection of Mother earth.

Stop invalidating Native people's bodily integrity by desecrating remains. Allow our people to rest in piece.
