Stop New Hanover County from approving a150 foot cell phone tower at 6516 Murrayville Rd from invading our peaceful residential area. If passed it will set precedence for development in other residential zoned areas.
1. The location of the tower as proposed will injure the value of surrounding property
2. Locating a tower on this property is not in conformity with the manner in which our neighborhood (residentially zoned) has been developed nor will it blend/be in harmony with the surrounding area.
3. There is industrial property in close proximity that could be utilized.

The growth of this petition has successfully captured the attention of local planning officials. My team is currently finalizing a formal letter to the zoning board to demand a review of the industrial alternatives mentioned in our proposal. We have requested a meeting with the district representative to present these signatures as evidence of neighborhood opposition.

So, someone thinks that it's a "great plan to put this tower in one of the most busiest flight lanes from ILM". Plus the thought of having a flashing light over this great neighborhood would be a shame!
I am a retired Realtor and know very well if there is a cell tower in view of our property there are buyers who will not even look at a house that fully meets their criteria. A cell tower will hurt our property values which are only just now recovering from a significant recession.
I was looking om Google Earth and noticed that at the Murrayville Road entrance o Olson park there is a spot in the right hand side there may be room for a cell tower. why doesn't let them put the tower there and use the money paid for the lease to help pay for the parks expenses.
Such a tower should be located in an industrial or non-residential area . The northern area of this county should have other options available.
A 150 ft cell tower will tower well above the surrounding pine trees. This area is meant for residential development and allowing the tower to go in will take away from the appearance of the area. It is an area that is suppose to be developed so families and friends can enjoy a great time, not industrial/commercial development.
