Parking attendants need to be controlled or removed. We have had enough of being hurled abuse, of our property being damaged and of experiencing a foul service by an attendant. They are an eyesore, barbaric and add no value other than instil fear and anxiety. Attendants demand a tip (sometimes hefty), will damage property if its not given, will hurl abuse if you give too little and will threaten you if they feel the need to. Though the government has told us that we are not obliged to give a tip, it is up to the government to make sure that those offering such a service are in fact adhering to the law. Moreover, such attendants do not issue VAT receipts and therefore are clearly seen to be above the law. Our tourists deserve more. Our citizens deserve more. Malta deserves more. Just get it done.
