On Tuesday morning 26/11/2024 around 03:00 three suspects were aprehended by members of Kyani APU , Nampol stockteft unit and Otjiwarongo Neighborhood Patrol when their vehicle was stopped and they were found in possesion of three cattle carcasses .
We need to stand togehter not only as a farming community but as a whole community to stop these criminal elements from getting out on bail just to commit the same crime within weeks of being released on bail .
Cases like these are causing massive livestock losses in a time when farmers are already struggling to survive a severe drought .
In the pursuit of fairness and justice it is imperative that these suspects be denied bail so that a clear example can be set for future instances of stock theft. It is time to protect our Namibian Farmers,Farming Communities and general food security in our Country.It is imperative to mention that,with verified information it has been established that the suspects are habitual transgressors and are not likely to desist with their illegal actions.

the support so far has been overwhelming and it really shows how much this is hurting our community. im busy talking to the local folks who can push this forward because letting these guys walk free just isnt an option anymore.

im honestly blown away by how many people joined this effort over the last few days. it really shows that our community is fed up with these repeat offenders and wants to see some real justice for a change.

Prosecution, Magistrates and farmers together with the Police should be called to the table and seriously discuss the issues which is of National concern.
Change the law to 1st time poaching - 2 years in prison, 2nd time poaching - 5 years in prison and 3rd time poaching 10years in prison!!
The farming community is not able to function with the constant losses suffered at the hands of habitual criminals who steal and destroy assets.
Please keep these veldslagters locked up. We are already having more than enough to deal with due to the drought.
We have been losing livestock through this acts of stock theft for years with cases reported and not resolved and its still continue. We refuse bail with highest order

How can it be that Nampol apprehend the thieves and the judges release them on bail time and again for the same offence? Have offenders more rights than law abiding citizens? On the other hand, judgments are harsh when the farmer defends himself and his cattle. Instead, they are the ones who actually deserve to be praised, because they at least protected other possible victims.
