  • On Friday afternoon 26/09/2025 a suspicious Polo hatchback was spotted on the D2773 road . Farmers were informed and asked to monitor the vehicle's movements . When it was spotted returning to Otjiwarongo direction MEFT members , Kyani APU , Nampol and ONP were informed whom then set up a mobile roadblock to intercept the vehicle.

The driver of the Polo failed to stop , drove straight through the roadblock almost hitting one of the officers on the ground .

A high-speed pursuit ensued , when the Polo was finally stopped 1 suspect was arrested while 4 managed to run away .(CR174/09/2025)

Inside the vehicle the meat of to cattle was recovered as well as the unlicenced hunting rifle fitted with a silencer and telescope , various knifes and a hacksaw used for skinning.

We are calling on the Court to set an example to criminals by keeping this suspect, and his accomplices whom he has identified to investigators locked up untill such time that they can appear before court and answer to their crimes .

All of them has had previous run-ins with law enforcement and time and time again that they are still on bail they end up being caught with repeat offences .

Farmers is suffering immense losses due toe poaching and stocktheft , law enforcement officers is being disheartened by arresting the same perpetrators again and again just to have them released on bail AGAIN !

Please let justice prevail for our livestock and our wildlife !

These is the sad reality that the law has turned a blind eye to.Especially us the communal farmers are losing big and tomorrow the thief is out on bail.its sad to lose a whole lineage of 10 cattle and see the perpetrator go free.if he is not found with the meat then he walks free. The law is failing us

Stock theft is a serious crime and with these being repeat offenders, the culprits must be kept in custody.

Unfortunately the law system in Namibia has a problem and is overloaded. We need more courts and magistrates to fill the backlog. Crime isn't being punished and so more people do crime.

The excuse " I'M HUNGRY" IS BECOMMING RIDICULOUS . IT BECOMMES A PROFITABLE BUSINESS .THE SUSPECT'S SHOULD NOT, AND I SAY AGAIN NOT,ENTITLED TO GET BAIL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES . THE SENTENCE SHOULD BE LIFTED DRASTICALY . IT SHOULD MEET THE ACTUALY VALUE OF EACH ANIMAL THEY POACH.

No bail must be granted for the alleged accused for stock theft. It will be unfair and it’s painful to such accused in z streets later again they commit similar acts.
