The city finally caved and committed to funding our own local shelter. Steinbach officials had no choice but to take responsibility after we kept the pressure on them. We won this fight for the strays but I will be watching every cent to make sure they actually follow through.

The city officials continue to ignore our suffering strays but your overwhelming support proves they can no longer pretend this problem does not exist. We finally have the momentum to force these people to stop hiding and address the neglect in our own streets.

I see how many strays my sister-in-law takes in, and she can't do this alone! Steinbach is a big enough city to need an animal shelter so these animals can find loving homes.
I agree very much with steinbach needing a shelter for the town and surrounding areas. I like some of the others would also volunteer some time.
It's very disconcerting that a community that touts such strong christian faith, continues to disregard and neglect God's creatures. Somewhat shameful, I say.
Yup it's getting out of hand ! Let's get as many people to sign this as we can ! I'll be working on a proposal for the city !
Steinbach is growing and with that comes bigger center problems including increasing number of stray and abandoned animals. Something organized NEEDS to be done.
Stray animals need chances to find homes and a place to survive our rough winters instead of wandering the streets, its not fair, we need a shelter!

I am surprised that a city of this size doesn't have an animal shelter / rescue. Time to build one . . NOW and help these little critters have a safe, warm place especially for the winter. AND remember people . . . SPAY OR NEUTER your animals.
