Decision Makers: Sharjah City Municipality

We call on the authorities in Sharjah to fund mandatory spay and neutering services for all stray cats. Stray cats are seen almost everywhere in Sharjah, and doing nothing leaves both the animals and the community to carry the cost.

When stray cat populations grow without control, more animals are left to struggle for food, shelter, and care. It also makes it harder to keep neighborhoods clean and safe, and it increases the strain on people who are already trying to help. A simple, practical spay and neuter program would reduce overpopulation in a humane way and give stray cats a better chance to live healthier lives.

This is not about punishment. It is about responsibility and compassion. Cats should not be left to multiply unchecked, only to face more hardship later. A funded program for mandatory spay and neutering would help prevent the cycle from continuing, improve conditions for animals across Sharjah, and support a safer, more manageable environment for everyone.

We ask for real action, with enough funding to make this program reach all stray cats, not just a few. Sharjah deserves a humane solution that works, and stray cats deserve the chance to live without endless suffering from overpopulation.
