The outcome of the two public community meetings, held on the 12 December 2016 and 13 January 2017, in Áislann Rann na Feirste, clearly demonstrates that there is no support for the industrial increase in scale of Oyster farming operations proposed for the Braade-Gweedore Bay area.

Rinneadh rí-shoiléir ag dhá chruinniú poiblí in Áislann Rann na Feirste, 12 Nollaig 2016 agus 13 Eanáir 2017, nach mbeidh glacadh ar bith ag an phobal áitiúil leis an méadú tionsclaíoch i bhfeirmeoireacht Oisrí, atá beartaithe ag Roinn na Mara do bháighe Na Bráda agus Ghaoth Dobhair.

A development of this scale needs a full Environmental Impact Analysis. These coastal regions are such a crucial part of the area; for the quality of life of the inhabitants as well as attracting visitors. Any harm to the ecosystem will have far-reaching consequences.

Ní hé seo an chéad uair ag Roinn na Mara neamhaird a dhéanamh ar an bpobal. Níor fhoghlaim siad an ceacht fós - fiú amháin tar éis fheachtas in éadan ollfheirm éisc i gCuan na Gaillimhe. Is léir gur foghlaimeoirí malla atá ag obair sa Roinn. Tacaimid le pobal Rann na Feirste sa bhfeachtas seo.

The beautiful nature of Donegal, especially in the region around Gweedore and Carrickfinn is one of the main reasons I visit Donegal twice a year. The strand at Rannafast would be utterly destroyed by this huge, ugly oysterfarm. So sad! :(

As an Upper Braade man who used to love picking a handful for the pot it is sad that their habitat is being destroyed by greed. I remember when there was only a few oyster catchers below my Uncle Patrick's house. That picture is sad.

Donegal airport was voted in the top 10 most scenic airports to fly into in 2016. I'm strongly against Oyster farming in the Braade-Gweedore Bay because it will not only ruin this beautiful view, and also turn the Wild Atlantic Way, into the Farmed Atlantic Way.

This cannot happen to our beautiful shore...shame on the individuals who have allowed this to get this far...if it was their view I wonder would it be happening, we are NOT NO BODIES IN NORTH WEST DONEGAL...
