We are petitioning the Mayor of the City of St Louis, the City of St Louis Treasurer, and our St Louis City Alderman to change our current City Ordinance(s) related to the towing of unregistered vehicles. Unregistered vehicle tickets are to be issued to the VIN of each vehicle ticketed. After 2 tickets are issued to the same vehicle VIN for not being registered, the 3rd and any subsequent tickets for non-compliance with registration requirements to the same vehicle VIN will make that vehicle immediately tow eligible. Unregistered vehicles are required the State of Missouri to be registered. Until and unless the subject vehicle VIN is brought into compliance and is properly registered with the State of Missouri, it will be immediately tow eligible until it becomes registered or the vehicle is forfeited for non-compliance with the law.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have joined this effort. This momentum belongs entirely to the residents who chose to speak up for our streets. Thank you for showing me that our neighborhood concerns are truly shared by so many.

It seems odd this should be any problem. My vehicles are all legally registered properly, yet because I forget to move my car sometimes on street cleaning day , even though the street cleaner does not arrive I get a citation for parking violation, which is followed up by a threatening sounding letter from City Hall even after I paid for the ticket. Yet when my garage is burglarized I have high definition video of the burglar in his vehicle with no plates on it , other neighbors have spotted his vehicle with no plates on it , He has not been even picked up . Something is very wrong with this whole scenario .

Shouldn’t be driving around with out tags or with expired tags. It’s only fair to everyone who does pay. Enforcing the law may just help this city.

I am appalled at the number of temp tags driving and parking around my neighborhood—some as old as a year expired. Yet I was ticketed once for 2 week old expired plates! That’s discrimination—because I can pay and the temp tag bandits with no insurance cannot or will not. The law needs to be enforced fairly and equitably.

If I can follow rules that the state mandates, everyone else should do the same. Don't buy a car you cannot provide registration and insurance for.

We even have a family member driving on expired tag for over a year. And he is a cop, thinking the rules do not belong to him. Nothing I can do

The City of St Louis needs to take these unregistered and uninsured vehicles seriously. Towing is the only solution, piles of fines have not worked.
