Effective October 12, 2020 the towing policy for The Villas at Ingram Hills changed. You are now required to register your vehicle for a fee of $10 per vehicle. In addition you are only allowed to use an open parking spot TWICE in a 7 day period - regardless if spots are open or not. If you park there more than TWO TIMES in a 7 day period your vehicle can be towed. In addition your guests are only allowed to park in an open spot ONE time in a 7 day period. This is not acceptable to our residents. If you do not agree with the current policies in place please sign this petition to get them reversed. We need 80% of the residents to disagree with the current policy in order to make these changes. This is your neighborhood and your home - why should you have to park several blocks away if a spot is open?

Updates

October 15, 2020

The feedback I keep hearing is that this feels less like a policy and more like a tax on coming home after dark. My patience is worn thin from the silence of management but I am continuing to document every reported tow to use when we finally get their attention.

October 15, 2020

Seeing this kind of movement is exhausting but it proves that I am not alone in feeling frustrated by these predatory parking rules. I am tired of fighting this battle every single day but your response tells me we have the weight to actually push back against management.

Dont agree with towing policy. I dont pay my home owners fee to do work and spend my time registering who comes to visit. Strongly disagree

This parking policy is crap. I didn’t buy my home to be told I can’t have visitors park nearby. How dare they say my mother would have to park far if she visits my daughter more than once or twice a week!!

This is unrealistic and infeasible. We are all working, with families during a global pandemic. The last thing we need to worry about is friends, family, and neighbors getting towed after a long day or work, school, and just everyday life. Be more empathetic to those around you.

There’s open sits because the first 10-12 years this community was devolving it was always the same board and same people who wld show up... mad after many towing arrangements and consist people knocking on board members houses drunk they gave up on everything....i personally thinking u will be looking at many law suits because this is not anywhere in the original byLaws for the community..... free parking is free parking so i will not pay for it without a legal fight......

I registered my car and mistakenly misplaced the letters of my license plate on the registration, the towing company did not even give me a warning just picked up my car and rudely told me that I should pay the towing fee for my mistake, I had to pay $220. I reported it to Spectrum and nobody has reached out to me.

Mike, I agree with you about getting new board members. What I’ve been told by the HOA management company is that we will need a petition in order to have a special meeting called where every resident can then voice their concerns with this policy and gave it revised. Other than that the policy stands. But you’re right it is now two board members who are making ALL decisions for our community - and the second member only recently joined - prior to that it was ONE person making the decisions and voting on her own community recommendations. It should be noted that while she pressed for the parking policy she herself does not own a car so she was unaffected by this change.

Moved in Dec 11th. Didnt get any info on towing policy. Car was towed the day after Christmas Natasha told me to beg the company for my refund. I have emailed the directors and waiting to hear back. It happened to my neighbor that moved in 2 months ago as well.
