Everytime it rains in Hopwood Park it creates a LARGE pond of water. Hopwood Park is very well used by young families and the elderly within the community. The Friends of Hopwood Park have worked tirelessly to improve the area. We need the council to help fix this issue in order to ensure public safety at all times when using this area.
Constant flooding at Hopwood Park continues to push neighbors out of our shared space. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the parks department to demand an immediate inspection of the drainage system. Please text three friends today and ask them to sign if you want these repairs done before the next heavy storm.

The momentum behind this effort proves that our community is tired of wading through mud every time it rains. Post this petition to your Facebook timeline today and tag your local council representative to demand action on the Hopwood Park drainage.

The park has so much potential. The drainage system must be a number 1 priority so the whole community can enjoy the park to its full potential.

The draining issue at Hopwood Park has been an issue for many years now, it is a danger to the children and pets which use the park daily.

This is so dangerous, especially near a play area and school, children are drawn to water, something needs to be done quickly

This has been a problem for years, so little money is spent on Hopwood as well as this problem the pavements in Glamis Avenue are disgraceful. There are quite a few elderly residents on this avenue and someone will fall very badly one day. I have brought this up with the local councillors when they came round to canvass but they said there is no money. Yet going into Rochdale is proudly says how much is being spent in Rochdale. We are always left out and yet they expect our rates to be paid with smiles on our faces. It is a joke.
